FAIRFAX JOURNALISTS AT FIVE AUSTRALIAN NEWSPAPERS TO GO ON STRIKE FOR MORE PAY
AAP reports that journalists at five Fairfax regional newspapers in NSW will begin industrial action next week in a bid for more pay.

Rolling strikes and stoppages will hit the Western Advocate in Bathurst, Dubbo's The Daily Liberal, the Northern Daily Leader in Tamworth, the Maitland Mercury and the Central Western Daily in Orange.
Media, Entertainment and Arts Alliance spokesman Richard Harris said journalists want an 11 percent pay rise over three years.
About 96 per cent of staff voted in favour of strike action.

Staff will begin a campaign of overtime bans and rolling stoppages from next week.
