MECOM GROUP SAYS 2008 EARNINGS WILL BE UP ON LAST YEAR

Mecom Group Plc has issued its trading update for the year ended December 31 2007, and said that with the acquisitions of Berliner Verlag on April 13, 2007 and 87 percent of Royal Wegener on October 25, 2007, Mecom has taken significant steps in realising its objective of becoming a leading publisher of European regional newspaper and related media assets.
On a like for like basis the group's EBITDA and EBITA are both expected to be ahead of the 12 months to December 31, 2006 and, for the reported 2007 results, within the range of analysts' expectations.
